“I used to support the BC NDP but I will never place a vote for an NDP candidate again. Why?
Because the NDP do not support ending marijuana prohibition and crippling organized crime in British Columbia. Carole James has said so publicly – something which boggles my mind.
Even veteran police are coming out and saying that a surefire way to put a huge dent in the gang violence on our streets would be to legalize and regulate marijuana. Yet the NDP have decided to fuel the drug prohibition fire. At a time when they could finally make ending marijuana prohibition an election issue they are choosing to turn their tail and flee. All the papers are talking about it these days yet the politically castrated NDP are avoiding the issue completely.
I was a card carrying NDP member because I thought they were the one party that would support my God given right to use cannabis. That they of all the parties would resist the urge to throw more police and lawyers at the failed drug war hoping something sticks. I thought that the NDP would be the party that would see the drug war for what it is – a complete and utter failure.
Sadly I was wrong and the NDP are more interested in gaining power than standing by their ideals. It’s a disgusting sight actually, and I honestly think that they are going to lose more votes than they gain by playing politics BC Liberal style. “”Win at all costs”".
Lucky for me there is an up and coming party in BC and across Canada that has you in their sights – The Green Party.
The new home of my vote.
