According to the UN drug czar most of the 352 BILLION (that’s right 352 BILLION) dollars that organized crime made off drug dealing this year went straight into the global financial system. Apparently this laundering of illicit profit was the only thing that kept the global financial crisis from toppling many banks around the globe.
Congratulations supporters of drug prohibition! Your 100 year attempt at eliminating drug use through harsh criminal sanctions has failed so badly that it has institutionalized a black market to the point where our global financial stability relied on its existence.
For Christ sake, can we please end drug prohibition and get serious about addressing drug use in our society?
Throwing people in jail is not working, and its costing us a shit load of money! (think of the tax revenue on $352 billion)
