Marc Emery in Solitary Confinement for Breaking a Prison Rule that isn’t in the Prison’s Rulebook

Marc Emery the Prince of Pot

Marc Emery the Prince of Pot

Not only is Marc Emery spending time in a US prison for a so called crime that we in Canada couldn’t be bothered to even charge him with – selling pot seeds – but now he is in solitary confinement for breaking a prison rule that was never explained to him. It wasn’t even in the prison rule book he was given.

Marc was having a phone conversation with his wife Jodie and she recorded the call. For some reason that is against prison rules – I’m sure the prison can record any calls it wants but I guess free Canadian citizens who aren’t even in the USA can’t. Bullshit.

This is an outrage. Today Libby Davies wrote an open letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to request he do something about this cruel and unusual treatment of a Canadian citizen who has not committed a crime of any serious nature. A “”crime”" that has only garnered a $200.00 fine for the few Canadians who have been charged with it here in Canada. So why is Marc being kept alone, without access to his family, without any reading material, and likely very confused about why they are treating him this way for breaking a rule he was not informed of.

Write Marc at the address here and let him know that he’s on the right side of history on this issue and that he’ll pull through. Also be sure to let him know what’s new and exciting in your neck of the woods. Let him know that he is missed and that we are looking forward to his safe and fast return to freedom.

And lets not forget what this is all about. Marc was just trying to point out the obvious to those who choose to put their head in the sand and ignore the failure of the drug war. Drug prohibition has been a colossal waste of scarce tax dollars. Prohibition is taking billions of dollars away from priorities like educating our children and providing health care to every Canadian citizen. I know for a fact that taking money away from prohibition and giving it to worthwhile programs that benefit our society will be a much better use of that money. Turn cannabis into a tax revenue generating product and apply it to health care. All the money saved from enforcing cannabis laws can be sent to education. And you can save a portion of what is made on the sale of cannabis to deal with any negative effects caused by legalizing it. Such as an increase in car crashes (if any), increased health care costs from smoking (if smoked and if proven to be carcinogenic which it hasn’t been), etc.

In the end we’ll all see that what Marc has been preaching is 100% dead on accurate. And all those who allowed Marc Emery to be sent up the river without adding their voice to the outcry will be ashamed of what they did. Or should I say didn’t.

Politicians and Police are Fucking Useless – Stop Enforcing Cannabis Laws Because THEY DON’T WORK

“Today was a day of frustration for me. In Montreal useless lazy cops decided today was the day to take medicine away from sick people by raiding a series of cannabis compassion clubs. This after similar raids in Toronto a few weeks ago. I expect Vancouver compassion clubs to be next, but if they do that they better be ready for a fight. We Vancouverites do not take lightly to heavy handed law enforcement abusing sick people who are harming nobody by consuming cannabis.

And then to add some irony into the days news cycle the CBC reported how organized crime is now operating the largest, most sophisticated, hardest to find grow ops ever seen in BC. And no doubt, based on what I have smoked, they are also growing the best weed they ever have. Here’s that news story…

And in case you missed it this story pointed out the blatant futility of the law enforcement effort to stop BC Bud.

For every 1000 Grow Ops
200 get reported to police
Police have the resources to investigate 100
Only 65 proceed with a criminal charge
Only 38 cases are strong enough for the crown to proceed with charges
and 8 end up leading to jail time

It’s a fucking waste of time and money over a harmless plant!

And to piss me off even more the media does a horrible job of reporting the news in this area. It’s reported as if the solution is to have tougher laws against cannabis use and production. And of course nothing could be further from the truth. Of course our unethical cops and useless politicians would like us to believe otherwise.

For fuck sakes are all of our police and politicians retarded? It’s tougher laws that have got us to where we are now. Every step in the direction of tougher laws increases the violence in the marijuana trade, pushes the growers further into the shadows and ultimately results in a less safe society. Jesus Christ, why am I the only one who see’s this pattern?

Thankfully I know I’m not the only one who thinks this way. Every person I engage in conversation about marijuana prohibition has the same opinion as me these days. And I’m not exaggerating. 10 years ago it was harder to find someone who agreed with my point of view. Nowadays people are growing very tired of having our scarce police resources used to keep responsible adults from using cannabis products. Tons of people are now aware of the epic failure of cannabis prohibition, yet our police still close down peaceful, non organized crime associated, compassion clubs. And no doubt they will be back at the tax payers money trough asking for more money to fight the “”scourge”" of marijuana.

And nothing is ever said on the news about how raiding compassion clubs just forces people to go back to paying organized crime for a product that was definitely produced in a more dangerous way than the lab tested and professionally grown cannabis compassion clubs sell to their doctor approved members. Not to mention the indignity that sick people have to go through to source medicine from gangsters.

Isn’t it time to do the right thing and let cannabis users be? We don’t deserve the abuse we are given for using a substance scientifically proven to be safer than our legal drugs – alcohol, tobacco and caffeine.

So to all you cops out there, give us a fucking break and go fight real crime. And to our politicians – stop handing money over to gangsters and let us pay you for our cannabis instead of them.”

Marc Emery – Stay Strong, Stay Brave, Stay Proud

Animals are most dangerous when threatened and cornered. They will attack you under those circumstances. Ideologically centered governments, like Canada’s current Conservative Party debacle, react the same way. Marc Emery found that out after many years of cornering the Canadian and US Governments.

He cornered them with science, fact and public support. He cornered them by pointing out their lies about marijuana that were designed to scare and mislead the public. Marc Emery stood up for what is right and what is just – an outright end to our terribly failed marijuana laws. Today Canada’s Justice Minister lashed out at Emery from his cornered position and exercised his poor judgment and signed Marc’s extradition papers.

Write your MP a letter stating how disappointed you are at what happened in Marc’s case. Write letters to the editor. And most importantly of all, once Marc is behind bars find his address and write him. Be sure to watch my blog as I will post his mailing address in prison as soon as I know it.”

Vancouver 420 2010 – Another huge event!

“The annual protest of marijuana prohibition took place around the world on April 20, 2010 as is tradition. 420 is a cannabis culture term for essentially lets get stoned, and why not do it at 4:20 PM in the afternoon? :)

Vancouver’s version of the event is likely the largest in the world, due to the common sense approach of Vancouver city council, which has made it clear to the Vancouver Police Department that marijuana offences are the lowest priority for them in the city of Vancouver. The rally yesterday attracted over 10,000 people (in the rain) to enjoy vast amounts of cannabis publicly and to protest the continued waste of tax dollars that go into the enforcement of marijuana laws that over 60% of BC residents want repealed!

Anyway, I am in a rush but just wanted to post a video that is pretty funny from the rally yesterday. Enjoy the antics of Spandy Andy…

3rd Grader Hands Out Free Heroin at School

Third Grader Hands out Heroin

For all the do-gooders out there that think taking control of the drug trade away from criminals through legalization and harm reduction will make it easier for kids to get access to drugs, think again.

Today a 3rd grader was caught giving away free heroin to classmates. He had over 60 flaps of H on him! This is what we get when we pretend to be in control of the drug trade through prohibitionist laws when in reality we’ve given control of selling drugs to scum bag drug dealers. Who get stinking rich to boot.

Prohibition makes it far easier for kids to get drugs than if we handled them like alcohol and prescription medicines because 99% of the people selling drugs today are willing to sell to kids in a heart beat. The criminals who control the illegal drug trade don’t care who they sell to, or who they enlist to sell their poison. This is no different than the days of alcohol prohibition when it became obvious that prohibition was making things worse than just letting people drink.

Hopefully we’re close to the same revelation. Our children deserve better than the status quo of outright prohibition.”

Oregon State Government Kidnaps Canadian Child from Calgary Mother

Calgary Cannabis Activist Has Child Taken Away

Calgary Cannabis Activist Has Child Taken Away

Holy shit. I just read this and couldn’t believe my eye’s. Read the article to get all the horrific and tragic details but basically a Canadian marijuana activist has had her child taken away from her by child protective services in Oregon. They won’t give him back to her because she is “”unfit”" but they won’t explain what makes her unfit. Could it be because she has a criminal record for growing medical marijuana?

Please – if you are reading my blog contact the following people and let them know this is unconscionable and must end. The poor child is being put through tremendous stress at a young age and will no doubt be changed from this experience in negative ways. And the Mother must be going fucking insane.

Pick up a pen, grab a phone, do something about this!

Good News Out of California

In November California will be voting for the outright legalization of marijuana use by adults. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds. Even if it doesn’t pass this is just step #1. It will be on the ballot every year until it passes. And the legalization will spread – this is just the first nail in the coffin.

Watch you’ll see…

BC University Adds More Evidence to the Growing Pile – Facts Show Drug Prohibition is a Horrific Failure!

Great news out of Canada today.

The University of British Columbia has produced a report which has found that the prohibition of recreational drug use by adults has failed at it’s primary goal. And in case you’ve forgotten what that goal was, we’re supposed to be trying to reduce the availability of drugs on our streets.

Well, as the news clip points out, we haven’t reduced drug availability. We’ve instead made drugs more available, of higher potency, lower price, yet with higher impurity levels ultimately making the drugs more dangerous than they were to begin with.

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, we’ve enriched the most vile members of our society through the lure of easy drug trade riches. After all, millions can be made by anyone who is willing to risk their freedom in exchange for extreme wealth. As long as you are willing to kill for it, its yours for the taking. That’s the proposition drug prohibition makes to the desperate, the poor and the greedy among us.

And did you get a load of the cops in that news clip? Kash Heed – how can you say shit like that and keep a straight face? You know what you said is an outright lie. And even if you thought you were being honest, and your 30 years of policing did convince you that prohibition is the only appropriate policy, don’t ya think that maybe your perspective might be a bit tainted by having to deal with the ugly side of drug prohibition day in and day out? Perhaps you’re having a hard time visualizing a world without prohibition because you have lived it’s ugly side for too long. But I think it’s much more likely that you’re just being a weasel politician and doing what is popular and not what is right.

And Tim Shields of the R.C.M.P. – please stick to enforcing our laws, not commenting on their validity. That’s what politicians are supposed to be paid to do. When they decide to show up for work. And ultimately that’s the reason we still have to endure the drug war despite all the mounting evidence against it – our politicians are fucking useless. Until they start doing what’s right instead of what’s politically easy we’re going to see our streets get more violent, more drug filled, and ultimately we’ll all suffer at the hands of organized crime in one way or another.”

Times Square Billboard Supporting The Legalization of Marijuana

Good to see that Americans are starting to see the light – marijuana should not be illegal, it makes no sense at all! And in fact we are spending scarce tax dollars trying to prohibit it when we could be taxing it and making a killing. Look at how much the gangsters are making off it – that could be us instead!!!

Rahim Jaffer – Lucky or Pure Slime Ball Politician?

Ex Conservative MP for Edmonton Rahim Jaffer got off on his drunk driving and cocaine possession charges today and instead plea bargained down to dangerous driving. Clearly this is BS. The cops laid charges feeling they had enough evidence to convict on both drunk driving and possession. So what the fuck happened? Why is he not facing the music like any other Canadian? I can’t wait to see this story play out further.
